Just south of New Orleans in the Mississippi River Delta region lies one of the most bio-diverse wetlands in the United States: Jean Lafitte/Bayou Barataria Preserve and the bayous of Lac des Allemands Choose from small, intimate six-passenger Airboats or larger 16-passenger Airboats. Either way, you'll experience the adventure of a high-speed airboat driven by a knowledgeable, local guide.
As you approach wildlife and gator "holes" the captain will cut the fans and you'll drift in close to all the wildlife that calls this area home. A very interactive tour, your captain will share stories of the area as he points out the flora and fauna and will be happy to answer your questions and help you get the photos you want. Only 40 minutes from Downtown New Orleans, you'll feel like you've entered another world with over 20,000 acres of swamp to cruise.

Guides will sometimes slip into the murky waters to bring one of its residents up to the boat. Don't worry, you won't get wet, but you might have the opportunity to hold a baby alligator as you cruise the narrow waterways and open marshes. Round trip transportation is offered from Downtown/French Quarter hotels or, if you have your own transportation, you can drive yourself and save a bit. Please allow about 45 minutes travel time.
